Rhodium-plated brass
(includes laser)

Laser Lattice is a three-dimensional work that was created during a fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute. The artwork is about how light travels through lattices of molecules, like glass. The model was created from a 3D model, 3D printed, and then cast in rhodium-plated brass using a process similar to the lost wax technique. For the greatest effect, it is useful to suspend a laser and point it at the sculpture. Even the smallest movement will cause the laser light to reflect off the sculpture in countless directions.
